Bunhwangsa is one of the most iconic temples from the Silla era and is famous for its stone pagoda, a National Treasure of Korea. Originally built with nine stories, only three remain today—still enough to show off the temple’s incredible architectural and historical value.


Each spring and early summer, lush green barley fields grow around the temple, making for a serene and photogenic landscape. From the temple parking lot, look toward the Hwangnyongsa History Center to see a sea of barley swaying against the backdrop of Gyeongju's history.

Hagwon Farm is a massive 495,000㎡ field covered entirely in barley—one of the largest in Korea. In spring, it’s famous for its barley fields; in fall, for buckwheat blossoms.


As more people discovered the scenic views, it became a hotspot for tourists and photographers, and has since been featured in dramas, films, and commercials. During peak season, the farm hosts a Barley Festival (mid-April to mid-May) and a Buckwheat Festival (September to mid-October) with events, food, and fun for the whole family.

This lesser-known gem became popular after it appeared in the K-drama “Our Beloved Summer.” The scene where the lead actress gazes out over the misty barley field made this abandoned ranch famous.


Though it’s private land with no formal parking and limited access, visitors still flock here to walk the narrow paths through the field and take unforgettable photos of the dreamy green hills. Just be mindful to stick to the paths and respect the property.

Located near Dosan Seowon, this vast barley field covers around 300,000㎡—roughly the size of 100 soccer fields!


It's known for hosting Korea’s latest green barley festival, typically held in June, and features beautiful river-side scenery along the Nakdonggang River. The festival includes photo zones, scarecrow-making, food stalls, and a national photography contest. It’s a great way to experience eco-friendly rural Korea in full bloom.

Gapado is a small island off the coast of Jeju where vast barley fields stretch as far as the eye can see. From mid-March to mid-May, the island hosts its famous Green Barley Festival, with programs like Olle Trail walks, wish-stone stacking, and treasure hunts.


Even after the festival, the views are spectacular—especially in April and May. On clear days, you can see Sanbangsan Mountain and Marado Island, making it a perfect backdrop for those dreamy springtime photos. Climb to the Sowang Observatory, the island’s highest point, for a panoramic view of Jeju’s blue sea meeting golden barley fields.
