Hanoi Hotel, Impressed by the sincere kindness - La beaute de Hanoi Hotel in Old Quarter

Travel in August 2018

When I searched about Hanoi, there were so many hotels that I could not count. As the price of Hanoi hotel varied, I was worried about where to sleep. My conclusion as I researched a little more in Hanoi was, "Yes, the first trip to Hanoi would be best for Old Quarter near Lake Hoankiem!"

But there were also countless hotels competing in the Old Quarter area. From incredible prices to luxury hotels or already reviewed by many Koreans. Come to think of it, I found that if you don't want a very expensive super-specialized hotel, you can stay at a very affordable price in Vietnam. Which hotel will you choose?

I heard that most hotels in Hanoi are very kind. The Hanoi area is very competitive as a hotel, Because it has a lot of people, a small land, and an old building. As a result, each hotel greet their customers by improving its strong point. So I thought about the conditions I wanted.

1. Not far from Hoankiem (Old Quarter)

2. The score should be 4.5 or higher on the Tripadvisor.

3. Not too expensive.

4. Not an old interior.

The first condition was not a big problem. However, it was not easy to meet the second and third condition at the same time. However, There are some hotels that satisfied with the two conditions in Hanoi. I searched various information again and found out that hotel with high ratings were not even 50,000 won per night, but (mostly three-star) friendly. The hotel was La Beaute de Hanoi Hotel.

Pick-up service at Hanoi International Airport.

I was planning to go to the hotel from Hanoi Noibai International Airport by myself. I also checked the bus routes and set up a grab app. But soon I decided to apply for a Pickup service(charged) at the hotel. There were many reasons.

First, I wanted to reduce the travel time.

Second, if the weather was too hot, I would be very tired during going from airport to hotel.

So I asked the La Beaute de Hanoi Hotel for pickup. The average taxi was $16 and the private car was $19. It was about 50 minutes from Hanoi Noibai International Airport to the hotel, so I didn't think it was too expensive. I asked for a private car.

Oh, my God, I was starting a trip in the rainy season! I realized the fact after I arrived at the Hanoi Noibai international airport. And I found the raindrops getting thicker after I exchanged my money. And I briefly complimented myself for being good at asking the hotel for a pickup in advance. Before I arrived at the airport, the hotel clerk told me what the driver wore, and explained that the drivers had a board with my name on it. Thanks to the clerk, I could find him right away.

We were waiting for you.

The above photo was taken at night, but we were scheduled to leave Busan for Hanoi by morning plane, so it was afternoon. By the time we arrived at the hotel, the driver called someone and our car stopped. I had to take a moment to get off the door of the car. The La Beaute de Hanoi Hotel is located in the entrance to the alley, so cars could not enter the alley. So the car stopped on the main street next to the alley, and a hotel clerk came up to my door and stood there waiting. I looked at her and she smiled and opened the car door. And the man behind her took our luggage out of the trunk of the car and moved it to the hotel. My response was a series of surprises at the 3-star hotel, and I never imagined that there would be such a service at a hotel that costs about $50 per night!

I was impressed by the staff of a warm smile and the kind explanation.

When I got out of the car, I was so embarrassed that I could not feel it for a moment, but it was very hot and humid even though it was a short distance from the car to the hotel entrance. When I got to downtown Hanoi, the rain stopped. And how hot and humid it was. As soon as I entered the hotel, the freshness from the air conditioner felt me immediately better. I went to the front desk to check in. The clerk told me to help check-in if I was sitting on that sofa. I love the service here!

As soon as the I sat down on the sofa, the man smiled and offered a cool towel and a drink. The drink seemed to be of the Citres family, but it tasted fresh and not too sweet. I felt better when I washed my hands with a cool towel. The check-in staff came up to us, sat down politely and began talking.

She informed us of the check-in process, how to stay this hotel, and gave us a brochure listing the contacts and addresses of many restaurants, tourist attractions, etc. She also handed me printed paper that arranged things to be careful in Hanoi. We were impressed by her kindness and delicacy, and most of all, the actions of this hotel staff were very impressive. I had plan to enjoy Halong Bay Cruise and she asked me which company I had reserved. I told her I had booked "Alisa Cruise" and even though I didn't ask her to do so, she checked confirmation of my cruise shuttle bus reservation and time. (Thanks to that, I was able to move without any disruptions.)

Junior Suite With Balcony

When I entered the room, the most surprising thing was the kindness of this hotel, which turned on the air conditioner. We were about to go to the room after the check-in process was over. But the staff caught us for a while and said, "Why don't we go up a little later because we have a quick check?" It was a suggestion. We decided to follow her, but it turned out that the staff had already turned on the air conditioner and asked us to go up when it was a little cooler. Wow! When I go to a hotel in a hot country, I always find and turn on the air conditioner remote control as soon as I arrive. That was my first. But I didn't have to do that.

Although the hotel has a small overall space. The elevator and hallway are narrow. On the other hand, however, the rooms were very large, so it was very convenient during my stay. I made a reservation for Junior Suite With Balcony. The staff asked me Which is better between double bed or two beds. I think My room had upgraded to Family Suite because I chose two beds! (I didn't check it out.) A little over $50 a night in a large room, including a balcony and a breakfast. This place seems to have a really good function of price.

Some reviews said that La Beaute de Hanoi Hotel is located in alleyways, but its surrounding area is too crowded and densely populated, making it a little noisy. However, it was exactly the opposite from what I experienced. I was on a leisurely ride on the Vietnamese rickshaw in Hanoi. Just when the rush hour and the night market began, a huge amount of motorcycles and their horns began to mix. I really didn't want to experience it again. When I came back to the hotel after experiencing that, this hotel was really quiet. Actually, it was very quiet here when I stayed and slept at La Beaute de Hanoi Hotel. So it was a unique location. In the entrance to the alleyway, less people traveled compared to the large street next to it, so the hotel was quiet even though it was very accessible to other areas.

Tea food, G7 Coffee, Two bottles of water are free every day.

Two bottles of water are provided free of charge every day, so three bottles of water are provided every day regardless of the number of people in the family room. In addition, G7 coffee, which is purchased by all Koreans, is served as an in-room beverage service. My roommate said that the taste of the beans(G7) is different from that of Korea. The same snacks as Korean rice snacks are served in tea.

The view outside the balcony was local life itself.

It was better not to open the balcony door during operating air conditioner. So my choice was to come out of the balcony. The hotel was in an alley and couldn’t expect a broad view even if it was out of the balcony. But that's what I liked. The scene was outside the balcony in the morning to help solve the wonder of how the native people would live. I could see the passerby on the balcony in the morning. There was a building on the opposite side, but plants were everywhere, just like the balcony of other houses and our balcony.

If you go up in the direction that you see in the picture, you can see the local life. There are restaurants that sell local food, such as poor stores and lots of units. There was a traditional market out there. In a way, the hotel was located very well in the Old Quarter. Beer street, well known to Koreans, was also within five minutes' walk.

Amenities

I thought the small square next to the soap was an extra soap. So I didn't pay much attention, but it turned out that the square contained a needle and thread. Small needles and some colorful threads are useful. How many people would take this on a trip?

I used shampoo and body wash as an amenities here and other products as products that I brought. The shampoo and body wash here smell good for use.

Complete Hanoi practice with maps and instructions!

Why was the picture so blurred? (I don't know!) The above picture is a supplement to the description of Hanoi and Hotel that the staff in charge explained. In Hanoi, She told me how to travel in Hanoi and marked where we were on the map. There was nothing wrong on foot around Hanoi with only this.

Breakfast was better than I thought.

Breakfast was more diverse than I thought. Of course not the same size as a ultra luxury hotel, It was good for Koreans because there was no strong spice for local food. I could order the main menu. I ordered the chicken rice noodle. It was really NICE. It was appropriate for me to like the soup. My picky roommate also showed high satisfaction that chicken rice noodles are delicious. A simple buffet menu and a system to choose the main menu were good. Even if there were so many types of buffet, what I ate might have been limited.

The concierge service was also good here in many ways. The clerks here also book show tickets for customers and ask customers if you need anything. One day I was caught in a huge motorcycle traffic jam in Hanoi. And I managed to find a hotel, and I could take a rest after that in Hotel. The staff asked me how my day was, and he told me about Hanoi detailed and so on, so I could understand Hanoi's huge traffic jam. The staff here have always been impressed by the warmth of the customer. And it was touching.

---------------------- INFO of La beaute de Hanoi Hotel @ Old Quater, Hanoi, Vietnam ----------------------

It is not far from Lake Hoankiem and traditional markets, and it is not difficult to find the entrance to alleyways so that’s why it was okay to arrive late at night. Although Hanoi is more secure than other cities in Vietnam, it is also a big road right next to the alley where the hotel is located, and there is less pressure on walking on the alley late at night. It is also close to beer street, and within the Old Quarter, it was a great place to walk without any inconvenience.

I have already confirmed the kindness of various clerks on many reviews, However after experiencing it in person, I can see why the rating of La beaute de Hanoi is so high. It seemed to be well known in Korea. I was able to easily access this hotel review in Korean from various hotel sales sites and had a lot of reviews. (However, it was hard to get information and review in Korean blog by Naver & Daum portal sites..) Most of the reviews were praising the price here and the excellent service of the staff. And after experiencing the kindness, I was moved by all their actions.

They offers concierge services. When a customer requests concierge services, most of the staff here conveniently solve them. Before leaving for cruise to Halong Bay, the staff called the cruise company to make sure that our pickup service was properly booked. And the clerk told us to pack a simple package and keep the rest of the luggage in Hotel. Thanks to that, I could have a light trip to Halong Bay in the distance. Even after our trip to Halong Bay, they kept my bags until I found them. And I was tired, so I asked clerk to buy tickets for the water puppet theater. Staff booked it and brought tickets of water puppet show for $4 adult tickets. How comfortable it was!

The total number of rooms in this hotel is only 20. Therefore, it was an advantage that people were not crowded during breakfast time. However, since the hotel lobby is not big and the elevator is small, and there is a slightly old feeling in certain areas. It was opened in 2014 and remodeled in 2017. So the room and bathroom were neat and new. And I was impressed with their efforts to decorate the bed with real flowers and greet customers.
